PROJECT BRIEF:
The clients business manufactures bespoke belting for production lines and automation. Both workshops previously utilised a total of 44kW of electrical fan heating which was very costly to run.
Being a tall single skin industrial unit much of the heat would dissipate to high level and was wasted.
SOLUTION:
Supply, installation and commissioning of 2No heat-pump air conditioning systems connected to bespoke textile socks.
The heat-pump units will provide the customer with considerable energy savings over direct electric heating, saving an estimated 60% on electricity for their comparable heat output. The installed system also benefits by offering cooling to the employees during the summer, increasing both comfort and productivity.
Key to this solution was the installation of a bespoke air delivery system through textile socks, this enabled Opek to design in specific and targeted air to operator locations and ensure the conditioned air from the unit was fully utilised.
